Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

The safety of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not clear, as modern documentation is lacking. Tropicamide Bausch & Lomb should therefore only be used during pregnancy if the treatment is necessary and then the lowest possible dose should be used.

It is unknown how much tropicamide passes into breast milk. Infants can be very sensitive to tropicamide contained in Tropikamid Bausch & Lomb. The product should therefore not be used during breastfeeding.

Driving ability and use of machinery

Tropicamide can affect the ability to drive or use machines. Tropicamide can affect visual acuity and cause temporary blurred vision. You should therefore not drive or use machinery until your vision returns to normal.

You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires increased attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and/or side effects. A description of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections. Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
