Sodium chloride Braun is a solution that contains sodium chloride (also called table salt). The solution contains a concentration of sodium chloride that is similar to the concentration of salts in your blood.
Sodium chloride Braun is used to dissolve or dilute other medicines before they are given as an injection.

- abnormally high level of sodium in the blood ( hypernatremia )
- abnormally high level of chloride in the blood ( hyperchloraemia )

How to use Sodium Chloride Braun
Sodium chloride Braun will be given to you by a doctor or nurse. It is given as an injection into a vein ( intravenous use), into a muscle ( intramuscular use), or under the skin ( subcutaneous use).
Dosage
The amount of medicine you are given depends on the instructions for the medicine to be dissolved or diluted with Sodium Chloride Braun. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and when and how it should be given.
If you take more Braun Sodium Chloride than you should
Because this medicine is given by a doctor or nurse, it is unlikely that you will receive too much. If you still get an excessive amount, the doctor or nurse will take the necessary measures. Symptoms of overdose can e.g. be swelling, thirst, weakness, nausea, and loss of appetite. In severe cases, you may experience confusion and muscle twitching.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If you take large amounts of this medicine, the levels of sodium and chloride in your blood may become too high. Symptoms of this can include headaches, thirst, swelling, and nausea.
How to store Sodium Chloride Braun
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
No special storage instructions.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and outer carton after EXP. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
Do not use this medicine if the solution is cloudy or discolored, or if the package or its closure shows signs of damage.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

- The active substance is sodium chloride. One milliliter solution contains 9 mg of sodium chloride.
- The other ingredients are hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment, glass bottle only) and water for injections.

Colorless glass vial with rubber closure, 20 x20 ml, 20 x50 ml and 20 x100 ml.
Mini-Plasco connect (polyethylene) plastic ampoule , 20 x 5 ml, 20 x 10 ml and 20 x20 ml.
Mini-Plasco basic (polypropylene) plastic ampoule , 50 x 10 ml, 50 x 20 ml, 100 x 10 ml and 100 x20 ml.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
