Silon is a liquid-repellent ointment with zinc oxide, and dimethicone (silicone oil) used to protect the skin.

- Wool grease and cetostearyl alcohol can cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
- Methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate may cause an allergic reaction (possibly delayed).
How To Use Silon
Dosage and instructions for use
- The affected area is covered with a thin layer of ointment one to several times daily, depending on the skin’s moisture. Dressings are applied if necessary. The silo is most easily washed off with greasy oil, such as baby oil. Another dosage is according to the doctor’s prescription.
- Silo does not prevent normal skin breathing and sweating.
