What Propyderm is and what it is used for

Propyderm is a white emollient cream containing 20% ​​propylene glycol. Propylene glycol has water-binding properties and some antimicrobial effects against certain fungi and bacteria.

Propyderm is used to treat dry skin of various kinds.

Propylene glycol contained in Propyderm may also be approved for the treatment of other conditions not mentioned in this product information. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or another healthcare professional if you have any further questions, and always follow their instructions.

What you need to know before using Propyderm

Do not use Propyderm

if you are allergic to propylene glycol in Propyderm or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and cautions

Avoid application on large and damaged skin surfaces. Propodeum must not be applied in the ear canal, or on burnt skin.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

No known risks during pregnancy. To prevent the breastfeeding baby from being unnecessarily exposed to propylene glycol, Propyderm should not be applied to the nipples during breastfeeding.

Propyderm contains excipients

Propyl and methyl parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).

How to use Propyderm

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.

Cream one is lubricated if necessary, preferably several times daily and always after contact with water. Apply as much cream as the skin can absorb without it feeling sticky.

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): Transient burning, itching, tingling, and redness. Allergic reactions.

How to store Propyderm

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Store below 25 ° C.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
