Omnicol powder for oral solution, sachet macrogol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium chloride

What Is Omnicol, And What Is Omnicol Used For?

Omnicol is a laxative for temporarily treating constipation in adults, adolescents, and the elderly. It is not recommended for children under 12 years.

Omnicol helps you to have a pleasant bowel function even if you have been constipated for a long time. This medicine can also be used after a doctor’s prescription for long-term treatment and severe constipation, called fecalom.

Self-care treatment of temporary constipation should not last longer than 14 days. You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or worse after 14 days. The combination of macrogol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium chloride in Omnicol may also be approved for treating other conditions not mentioned in this product information.

Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or healthcare professional for further questions, and always follow their instructions.

What Do You Need To Know Before Taking Omnicol?

  • If you have ulcers in the intestinal wall
  • If you have severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, or toxic megacolon

Warnings And Cautions:

When you take Omnicol, you should continue to drink a lot. The fluid in this medicine should not replace your normal fluid intake.

Heart problems:

If you have heart problems, follow the special instructions in section 3 if you have been prescribed Omnicol by a doctor for severe constipation, called fecaloma.

Other Medicines And Omnicol:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take other medicines. Some medicines, such as epilepsy, may be less effective when using Omnicol.

Pregnancy And Breastfeeding:

This medicine can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Driving And Using Machines:

Omnicol does not affect your ability to drive or use machines. However, you are responsible for assessing whether you can drive a motor vehicle or perform work requiring increased attention.

One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects or side effects. Descriptions of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections.

Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Omnicol Contains Sodium:

This medicine contains 187 mg of sodium (the main ingredient in table salt/table salt) per sachet. 3 sachets correspond to 28% of adults recommended daily sodium intake. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you need 3 or more doses daily for an extended period, especially if you have been prescribed a low-salt (sodium-poor) diet.

Fecal:

  • Before taking Omnicol to treat feces, it should be established that you have this diagnosis.

Talk to a doctor if you need to take this medicine for more than 2 weeks. In long-term treatment, the dose can usually be reduced to 1 or 2 sachets daily.

If You Take More Omnicol Than You Should:
