Bendroflumethiazide

What Bendroflumethiazide Alternova is and what it is used for

Bendroflumethiazide Alternova belongs to a group of medicines called thiazides.

Bendroflumethiazide Alternova is used to treat:

  • High blood pressure
  • Swelling ( edema )
  • Preventive treatment for kidney stones

Bendroflumethiazide Alternova´’s blood pressure lowering effect is probably due to the dilation of certain small blood vessels. The diuretic effect is due to the influence of the kidney which causes fluid to leave the body.

Bendroflumethiazide Alternova in some cases prevents the formation of kidney stones by reducing the calcium content in the urine.

Bendroflumethiazide contained in Bendroflumethiazide Alternova may also be approved for the treatment of other conditions not mentioned in this leaflet. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or another healthcare professional if you have any further questions, and always follow their instructions.
