1. What Addex-Ammonium Chloride is and what it is used for

Addex-Ammonium chloride is a concentrated solution which, after dilution, is given by healthcare professionals as a drip into a blood vessel ( intravenous infusion ). It belongs to a group of medicines called electrolyte solutions. Addex-Ammonium chloride is used when the pH of the blood is elevated (so-called metabolic alkalosis ), which can be the result of persistent vomiting, for example.

2. What you need to know before you use Addex-Ammonium Chloride

Do not use Addex-Ammonium Chloride

  • if you have severe liver damage.

Warnings and cautions

Talk to your doctor or nurse before using Addex-Ammonium Chloride if you have:

  • hepatic impairment
  • renal impairment.

How to take Addex-Ammonium Chloride

You will receive this medicine by a drip into a blood vessel ( intravenous infusion ). The infusion rate and the amount of solution you receive depend on your condition. Your doctor will decide what is the right dose for you.
