The active substance in Nplate is romiplostim which is a protein used to treat low platelet counts in patients with primary immunological thrombocytopenia (called ITP). ITP is a disease in which the body’s immune system destroys its own platelets . Platelets ( platelets ) are the cells in the blood that help to close wounds and form blood clots.
