Pravastatin Sandoz is a cholesterol-lowering drug that belongs to the group of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (or statins), which work by reducing the body’s production of ‘bad cholesterol’ ( LDL ) and increasing the levels of ‘good’ cholesterol ( HDL ). Cholesterol is a fat that can cause coronary heart disease by clogging the blood vessels that supply the heart with blood.
