Trastuzumab is designed to bind selectively to an antigen called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 ( HER2 ). HER2 is found in large quantities on the surface of certain cancer cells and then stimulates cell growth. When Trazimera binds to HER2 , the growth of the cancer cells is stopped and this leads to their death.
