Z ALTRAP contains the active substance aflibercept, which is a protein that blocks the growth of new blood vessels within a tumor . A tumor needs nutrients and oxygen from the blood in order to grow. By blocking the growth of blood vessels, Z ALTRAP can cause the growth of a tumor to stop or slow down.
