What Paraflex Is And What It Is Used For

This medicine contains the active substance chlorzoxazone and is a muscle relaxant. The effect is because the nerve impulses from the skeletal muscles are partially blocked in the brain.

What You Need To Know Before Taking Paraflex

Do Not Take:

  • If you are allergic to chlorzoxazone or any of the other ingredients of Paraflex medication (listed in section 6).

Warnings And Cautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Paraflex 250 mg English if you:

  • Have impaired liver function, so you should not use this medicine.
  • Have a hereditary metabolic disorder ( porphyria ), you should not use Paraflex medication.
  • Is older than 65 years because this medicine can cause side effects such as
    • Fatigue
    • Dizziness
    • Drowsiness which in turn can increase the risk of falls.

There is a risk of serious liver damage when using Paraflex 250 mg English (see section 4 Possible side effects ). Contact a doctor if you experience symptoms of liver damage, such as

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Decreased appetite
  • Abdominal pain
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)

Improper use and abuse have been seen with the use of muscle relaxants. The risk of misuse and misuse of the Paraflex tablet is unknown.

Children and adolescents
Do not give to children weighing less than 40 kg (under 12 years).

Other Medicines And Paraflex

During treatment with Paraflex 250mg, side effects such as fatigue, dizziness, and drowsiness may occur, which may impair alertness and attention. Avoid driving or using vehicles or tools if such side effects occur.

How To Take Paraflex

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Recommended dose

Adults

1 tablet 3-4 times daily. In case of severe muscle spasms, 2 or possibly 3 tablets 3-4 times daily can be taken initially, but not more than 9 tablets per day.

Elderly (over 65 years)

If you are older, your doctor should prescribe the lowest possible dose and the shortest possible treatment time, to reduce the risk of side effects.

Use in children and adolescents
Children and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (12 years and older): 1 tablet 3-4 times daily.

Paraflex 250mg can be taken with or without food.

The notch is only for you to be able to divide the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing it whole. To facilitate swallowing, the Paraflex tablet (s) may also be crushed or dissolved in liquid and should then be taken immediately.

  • Hives and difficulty breathing

Uncommon Paraflex side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1000 people):

  • Bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract
  • Itching
  • Rash
  • Hives
  • Petechiae (small punctate skin hemorrhages) bruising
  • Jaundice
  • Allergic reactions

Has been reported (occurs in an unknown number of users):

  • Hepatic impairment
  • Liver damage (has in some cases led to transplantation or been life-threatening)
  • Liver failure
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Angioedema (for more information on symptoms, see above)

How To Store Paraflex

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Do not store above 30 ° C.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label after EXP.
  • The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
