What Is Oviderm, And What Oviderm Used For?
Oviderm is an emollient cream that contains the active substance propylene glycol (25%). Propylene glycol has water-binding properties and some antimicrobial effects against certain bacteria and fungi. Oviderm is used to treat dry skin in adults and children.
Propylene glycol in this cream may also be approved for treating other conditions not mentioned in this product information. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or other healthcare professionals if you have further questions, and always follow their instructions.

- On burnt skin
- In the ear canal one because propylene glycol can damage the ear
Pregnancy, Breastfeeding And Fertility
There are no known risks of use during pregnancy. Do not use this cream on or around the nipples when breastfeeding to prevent the baby from accidentally ingesting the medicine.
Oviderm Contains Cetostearyl Alcohol
It may cause local skin reactions (eg, contact dermatitis).
How To Use Oviderm?
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. If unsure, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
- Adults and children
- Cream one should be applied to the skin when needed, preferably several times daily and always after contact with water. Apply as m cream as the skin can absorb without feeling sticky.
Possible Oviderm Side Effects
This medicine can cause side effects like all medicines, although not everybody gets them.
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
- Transient burning
- Itching
- Tingling and redness of the skin
- Allergic reactions
How To Store Oviderm?
- Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube and carton or can after EXP. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
- Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that are no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
