Lomudal eye drops contain the active substance sodium cromoglycate and are used to treat allergic eye problems, such as eye problems with pollen allergy.
Common symptoms of allergic eye problems are redness, itching, burning, and increased tear flow. Most often, both eyes are irritated.
Lomudal eye drops can be used for both treatments of children and adults.
Lomudal eye drops counteract the allergic inflammation by preventing the release of inflammatory substances such as histamine in the eye.
Lomudal eye drops can be taken prophylactically but even when the symptoms have already begun.

- if you are allergic to sodium cromoglycate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and cautions
Soft contact lenses should not be used during treatment with Lomudal 20 mg/ml eye drops, solution in a dropper bottle as the preservative may discolor soft contact lenses.
If you only have one eye problem, you should consult a doctor before starting treatment as allergic problems usually irritate both eyes.

Lomudal eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride
Lomudal 20 mg/ml eye drops, solution in a dropper bottle contains the preservative benzalkonium chloride which may cause eye irritation and discolor soft contact lenses. Soft contact lenses should not be used during treatment with Lomudal eye drops in a drip bottle.
How to use Lomudal 20 mg / ml eye drops, solution
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. If you are not sure, talk to a pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and children: 1-2 drops in each eye 4 times daily.
Doctors can adjust the dose for you.
To get the best effect, Lomudal eye drops should be used regularly every day you are exposed to what you are allergic to, even when you have no problems.
Contact a doctor if you do not get the effect of the medicine within a few days.
Instructions for use
When you open the bottle for the first time, you must break the safety seal. Open the bottle by pushing the lid down and turning it counterclockwise. Close the lid carefully after use.
How to use Lomudal eye drops:
- Tilt your head back. Pull down the lower eyelid and drip one or two drops between the eye and the eyelid. Avoid contact of the bottle opening with the eye or eyelashes .
- Blink a few times so that the eye drops are distributed over the entire eye.
- Do the same in the other eye.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): Transient burning in the eye (when the drops are dripped into the eye).
Other symptoms of local irritation may occur in rare cases.
How to store Lomudal 20 mg / ml eye drops solution
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Lomudal eye drops are light sensitive and should be stored in the outer carton. Do not store above 25 ° C. Opened bottle should be consumed within 4 weeks.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the bottle after “Exp. that. ”. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
