1. What Echinaforce Forte is and what it is used for
Echinaforce Forte is a traditional herbal medicine used for short-term prophylaxis and relief of colds.
The indications for traditional herbal medicine are based solely on the experience of long-term use.
For short-term treatment only. Used for a maximum of 10 days per treatment session.
2. What you need to know before using Echinaforce Forte
Do not use Echinaforce Forte
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Echinacea purpurea (red sun hat) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
- if you are allergic to other basket-flowered plants (eg daisies, dandelions, chamomile, wormwood, or gray ivy).
Warnings and cautions
Consult a doctor or other healthcare professional if your symptoms get worse or if you get a high fever. There is a possible risk of severe hypersensitivity reactions(anaphylactic reactions) in atopic patients. Stop taking Echinaforce forte and contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, and/or pharynx, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing,g or rash. This type of reaction may require urgent hospitalization. EchinaforceFortee may affect the immune system and should therefore not be used with other medicines that affect the immune system, such as chemotherapy drugs and other cytotoxic drugs. You should avoid using Echinaforce forte if you have a disease that affects the immune system, such as an autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus ( SLE ), and multiple sclerosis (MS), or if you have tuberculosis, sarcoidosis or leukemia. You should also not use Echinaforce forte if you are undergoing or have had an organ transplant.
Children and young people
Echinaforce Forte is not recommended for children under 12 years of age, as experience is limited.
Other medicines and Echinaforce Forte
The effect of concomitant use of other drugs or food has not been studied.
In case of contact with a doctor or other healthcare professional, remember to mention that you are taking or have recently taken Echinaforce Forte.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
In the absence of adequate data, use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
The potential effect of the drug on fertility has not been studied.
Driving and using machines
Echinaforce Forte has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines.
You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and/or side effects. Descriptions of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections. Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. Discuss with your doctor or another healthcare professional if you are unsure.
Echinaforce Forte contains lactose and soy saccharides
Each tablet contains 7.5 mg of soy polysaccharides. If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicine.
Each tablet contains 690 mg of lactose monohydrate. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before using Echinaforce Forte.
3. How to use Echinaforce Forte
Always use Echinaforce Forte as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or other healthcare professional. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or other healthcare professional.
Dosage instructions
Adults, the elderly, and adolescents over 12 years of age:
Treatment for colds: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily.
Prophylaxis: 1 tablet twice daily.
In case of cold symptoms, treatment should start as soon as possible. Echinaforce Forte should not be used for more than 10 days per treatment session.
Contact a doctor or other healthcare professional if symptoms persist after 10 days.
Children and young people
Not recommended for children under 12 years.

If you have taken too much Echinaforce Forte or if, for example, a child has accidentally ingested the medicine, contact a doctor, hospital, or the Poison Information Center for risk assessment and advice.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Echinaforce Forte can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
For products containing Echinacea, hypersensitivity reactions in the form of skin rash with hives and itching may occur. In rare cases, severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur with swelling of the face, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, and a drop in blood pressure. The risk of allergic reactions is higher in atopic. It is unclear how common the above-mentioned side effects are.

5. How to store Echinaforce Forte
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25 ° C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
Shelf life in broken packaging: The tablets should be used within 7 months after the can was first opened.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
6. Contents of the packaging and other information
Content declaration
– The active substances are a dry extract from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) herb and dry extract from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) root.
1 tablet contains:
17.7 mg extract (as dry extract) from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench (red sun hat) herb, corresponding to 300-600 mg fresh herb of red sun hat. Extractant: ethanol65% v / v (57.3% m / m).
0.9 mg extract (as dry extract) from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench (red sun hat) root, corresponding to 17-29 mg fresh root of red sun hat. Extractant: ethanol 65% v / v (57.3% m / m).
– The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, magnesium stearate, and soy polysaccharides.
What the medicine looks like and the contents of the pack
Beige-green, slightly mottled convex tablet.
Each pack contains 40 tablets in a brown glass jar.
