1. What Canephron is and what is it used for

Canephron is a traditional herbal medicine used with plenty of fluids to

a) Prevent the recurrent formation of kidney stones

b) Relieve symptoms of recurrent mild lower urinary tract infections in women, such as a burning sensation when urinating and/or the need to urinate more often than usual.

Canephron should only be used after a doctor has determined that there is no other, serious illness, such as a sexually transmitted disease.

The indications for traditional herbal medicine are based solely on the experience of long-term use.

2. What You Need To know Before You Use

Do Not Take Canephron

  • If you are allergic to flaccid, lichen, rosemary, other plants of the family Apiaceae (celery plants), or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • If you have stomach ulcers
  • If you have impaired kidney function
  • If you suffer from a disease for which reduced fluid intake is recommended, e.g. impaired cardiac function.

Warnings And Cautions

Contact your healthcare provider if you experience problems or symptoms such as fever, side pain, difficulty emptying your bladder, urinary tract cramps, or blood in your urine while using Canephron tablets.

The use of Canephron to relieve the symptoms of urinary tract infection in men is not recommended, as there is a risk of developing complications due to urinary tract infections or other serious illnesses.

Children And Young People

Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended as there is a risk of developing complications due to urinary tract infections or other serious illnesses.

Other Medicines And Canephron

The effect of concomitant use of other drugs has not been studied.

In case of contact with a doctor or other healthcare professional, remember to mention that you are taking or have recently taken Canephron.

Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, And Fertility

Using Canephron during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended as experience is limited.

The potential effect of the drug on fertility has not been studied.

Driving And Using Machines

Canephron has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines.

You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires increased attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and/or side effects of canephron. Descriptions of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections. Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or other healthcare professional.

If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine

3. How To Use Canephron Tablets

Always take canephron dosage exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor advised. Ask your doctor or pharmacist how to use Canephron if you are unsure.

Recommended canephron dosage:

To prevent recurrent kidney stone formation (indication a):

Adults and the elderly

2 tablets 3 times daily.

To relieve symptoms of recurrent urinary tract infections (indication b):

Women (adults and older)

2 tablets 3 times daily.

Method of administration:

The tablet should be swallowed whole with liquid (eg a glass of water).

Drink at least two liters of water per day.

Processing time:

To prevent recurrent kidney stone formation (indication a):

Canephron should not be used for more than 4 weeks per treatment session.

The treatment can be repeated if necessary.

To relieve symptoms of recurrent urinary tract infections in women (indication b):

If symptoms do not subside after 4 days or worsen during the canephron uses, a physician or other healthcare professional should be consulted.

Use for c

Children And Adolescents.

Canephron is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years (see section 2, Children and adolescents).

If You Forget To Use Canephron

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Canephron Tablets Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) have been reported. Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions may occur. The frequency is not known.

5. How To Store

Do not store above 30 ° C.

Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton, and blister after “EXP. that. ”. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

The active substances are:

  • 18 mg powdered Centaurium erythraea Rafn (flock run) herb, which is equivalent to 18 mg of dried herb of flock run.
  • 18 mg powdered Levisticum officinale Koch (live sting) root, equivalent to 18 mg dried root from stinging nettle.
  • 18 mg powdered Rosmarinus officinalis L. (rosemary) leaves, equivalent to 18 mg dried rosemary leaves.

The other ingredients are sucrose, talc, lactose monohydrate, corn starch, calcium carbonate, povidone, colloidal anhydrous silica, dextrin, magnesium stearate, and liquid spray-dried glucose, titanium dioxide, shellac, riboflavin, montan glycol oil, iron oxide.

What The Medicine Looks Like And The Contents Of The Pack

Orange, round, biconvex coated tablet with a smooth surface and a diameter of 7.9-8.2 mm.

Pack sizes: 60, 120, or 200 coated tablets.

Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
