5 mg film-coated tablets
finasteride
1. What Finasteride Aurobindo is and what it is used for
Finasteride Aurobindo belongs to a group of medicines called 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors. They work by reducing the size of the prostate gland in men.
Finasteride Aurobindo is used for the treatment and control of benign prostate enlargement ( benign prostatic hyperplasia – BPH ). The drug causes regeneration of the enlarged prostate, improves urine flow and the symptoms caused by BPH, and reduces the risk of acute urinary retention (inability to urinate) and the need for surgery.
Finasteride contained in Finasteride Aurobindo may also be approved for the treatment of other conditions not mentioned in this leaflet. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or another healthcare professional if you have any further questions, and always follow their instructions.
