What Robinul is and what it is used for
Robinul is used before an operation to reduce salivary secretion in the oral cavity, trachea, and throat, or during an operation to normalize or counteract slow heart rhythms.
What you need to know before using Robinul
Do not use Robinul
- if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and cautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before receiving Robinul if you have:
- fever
- renal impairment
- high blood pressure or heart problems
- myasthenia gravis (a muscle disease)
- glaucoma ( glaucoma )
- prostate enlargement
- asthma.
Robinul should be used with caution in elderly patients.
Other drugs and Robinul
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Clinical experience in pregnant women is limited.
Glycopyrronium bromide passes into breast milk, but the risk of affecting the baby is unlikely with the doses you will receive.
Robinul contains sodium
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per ml, ie essentially ‘sodium-free’.
How to use Robinul
The dose you receive is determined by your doctor. Robinul is given by healthcare professionals as an injection into a blood vessel (a vein) or in a muscle before anesthesia or as an injection under anesthesia.
Use in children and adolescents: The doctor decides the dose to be given.

Possible side effects
Contact a doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms, as you may then need emergency care.
Swelling mainly of the face, lips, or throat, which may make it difficult to swallow or breathe, itching and rash. This may be a sign of a severe allergic reaction or angioedema (no known frequency, can not be calculated from the available data).
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very common (may affect more than 1 user in 10):
- Dry mouth (occurs in all patients).
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
- Drowsiness.
- Visual disturbances.
- Fast heart rate, palpitations, heart rhythm disturbances.
- Difficulty urinating.
No known frequency (cannot be calculated from the available data) :
- Severe allergic reaction.
How to store Robinul
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
