Overactive Bladder

}

Having an overactive bladder means that you often feel that you need to urinate. It is a very common problem for both men and women and can become more common as you get older. But even children and adolescents can have an overactive bladder.

Most people who have an overactive bladder can learn to live with it and there is a good help to get if the trouble affects everyday life. For example, you may need help if it runs out of a kiss without you being able to control it. This is true even if you are disturbed by having to pee at night.

Symptoms of overactive bladder

This is common if you have an overactive bladder:

  • You often feel pissed off.
  • You often kiss.
  • It does kiss sometimes.

When should I seek care?

If you have so much trouble that it affects everyday life, you should contact a health care center.

You can seek care at any healthcare center you want throughout the country. You also have the opportunity to have a regular doctor’s contact at the health center.

What is it?

Many times there is no special reason why you often feel pissed off. Sometimes it is due to a nerve injury, a nerve disease, or, for example, uterine incidence or prostate enlargement. It may also have psychological causes or depend on a drug you are taking.

What can I do for myself?

You can train the bladder to cope with larger amounts of a kiss before you become needy. After consulting with a doctor or a so-called urotherapist, you can try to stay for at least four hours at a time.

Investigations

You will be able to answer questions that the doctor asks to find out what could be causing the trouble. Sometimes you get so-called cystometry, where the doctor flushes saline through a catheter that is inserted into the bladder and simultaneously measures the pressure there. Depending on your symptoms, it can also lead to prostate examination, vaginal ultrasound or ultrasound or x-ray examination of the kidneys and urinary tract.

You have the right to understand

In order for you to be able to participate in your care and make decisions, it is important that you understand the information you receive from the healthcare staff. Ask questions if you don’t understand. You can also ask for information printed so that you can read it peacefully.

Treatment of overactive bladder

You may need help if your own training does not help. For example, there are medicines that make you not feel as pissed off as often. If you have severe problems with overactive bladder, there are other treatments. You may need surgery if the cause is more unusual, such as uterine incidence or prostate enlargement.
