1. WHAT ECHINAFORCE IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

Echinaforce oral drops, the solution is a traditional herbal medicine used for short-term prophylaxis and relief of cold symptoms.

The indications for traditional herbal medicine are based solely on the experience of long-term use.

For short-term treatment only. Used for a maximum of 10 days per treatment session.

BEFORE YOU USE ECHINAFORCE

Do not use ECHINAFORCE

  • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Echinacea purpurea (red sun hat) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • if you are allergic to other basket-flowered plants (eg grasshopper, chamomile, daisy, wormwood, dandelion).

Take special care with ECHINAFORCE

Consult a doctor or other healthcare professional if your symptoms get worse or if you get a high fever. There is a possible risk of severe hypersensitivity reactions(anaphylactic reactions) in atopic patients. Stop taking Echinaforce and contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, and/or pharynx, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, or rash. This type of reaction may require urgent hospitalization.

Echinaforce may affect the immune system and should therefore not be used with medicines that affect the immune system, such as chemotherapy drugs and other cytotoxic drugs. You should avoid using Echinaforce if you have a disease that affects the immune system, such as an autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis(RA), systemic lupus erythematosus ( SLE ), and multiple sclerosis (MS), or if you have tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, or leukemia. You should also not use Echinaforce if you are undergoing or have had an organ transplant.

Children and young people

Echinaforce is not recommended for children under 12 years of age as experience is limited.

Use of other medicines

The effect of concomitant use of other drugs has not been studied.

In case of contact with a doctor or other healthcare professional, remember to tell them that you are taking or have recently taken Echinaforce drops, solution.

Taking ECHINAFORCE with food and drink

The effect of concomitant intake of food and drink has not been studied.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

In the absence of adequate data, use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.

The potential effect of the drug on fertility has not been studied

Driving and using machines

Echinaforce has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines. You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and/or side effects. Descriptions of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections. Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. Discuss with your doctor or another healthcare professional if you are unsure.

Important information about some of the ingredients of ECHINAFORCE

This medicine contains 65% by volume of ethanol (alcohol), ie up to 0.5 g per dose, equivalent to 13.2 ml of beer, or 5.5 ml of wine per dose.

Harmful to people suffering from alcoholism.

Attention should be paid to pregnant or lactating women, children, and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy

Always use Echinaforce exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or other healthcare professional. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or other healthcare professional.

Dosage instructions

Ongoing cold

Adults, the elderly, and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 ml (about 28 drops) in a glass of water 3-5 times daily.

Prophylaxis

Adults, the elderly, and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 ml (about 28 drops) in a glass of water 3 times daily.

In case of cold symptoms, treatment should start as soon as possible.

Echinaforce should not be used for periods longer than 10 days per treatment session.

Contact a doctor or healthcare professional if symptoms persist after 10 days.

Children and young people

Not recommended for children under 12 years.

If you use more ECHINAFORCE then you should 

If you have ingested too much medicine or if, for example, a child has ingested the medicine by mistake, contact a doctor, hospital, or the Poison Information Center for risk assessment and advice.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Echinaforce can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

For products containing Echinacea, hypersensitivity reactions in the form of skin rash with hives and itching may occur. In rare cases, severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur with swelling of the face, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, and a drop in blood pressure. The risk of allergic reactions is higher in atopic. It is unclear how common the above-mentioned side effects are.

5. HOW TO STORE ECHINAFORCE

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25 ° C.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the label after EXP. date… The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Content declaration

  • The active substances are extracts from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) herb, and extracts from Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) root. Extractant: ethanol 65% (v / v).

1 ml contains:

860 mg extract of Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) herb, equivalent to

about 240-440 mg fresh herb of red sun hat. Extractant: ethanol 65% (v / v).

45 mg extract of Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, (red sun hat) root, equivalent

to about 12-23 mg fresh root of red sun hat. Extractant: ethanol 65% (v / v).

1 ml corresponds to about 28 drops.
