What Vamin is and what it is used for

Vamin is a nutritional solution given via a drip into a vein ( intravenous infusion ).

The active substances found in Vamin may also be approved to treat other diseases not mentioned in this product information. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or another healthcare professional if you have any further questions, and always follow their instructions.

What you need to know before using Vamin

Do not use Vamin

  • if you are allergic to the active substances or any other ingredient of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • if you have a congenital disorder in the breakdown of amino acids.
  • if you have liver damage that cannot be cured.
  • if you have severe urine poisoning and there are no dialysis options.

Other medicines and Vamin

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might be using other medicines.

There are no known interactions between Vamin and other medicines.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

There are no known risks with using Vamin during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Driving ability and use of machinery

There are no known risks with using Vamin while driving or using machines.

How to use Vamin

This medicine is given by healthcare professionals into a vein ( intravenously ) via a drip.

The doctor will decide how much infusion solution you need. It depends, among other things, on body weight and your individual need for fluids and salts.

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 users):

  • Inflammation of a superficial blood vessel ( thrombophlebitis )

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 users):

  • Freezing
  • Nausea
  • Skin redness
  • Hypersensitivity reaction

Transient changes in liver samples have been noted in connection with intravenous nutrition, but the cause is unknown.

How to store Vamin

Store at a maximum of 25 o C. Does not freeze.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Use before the expiry date stated on the label. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
