Other medicines and Ringerfundin

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

In particular, remember to mention if you are taking, using or receiving the following medicines:

  • Drugs that bind sodium or water in the body, such as
    • steroid hormones or
    • carbenoxolone
If these medicines are used at the same time as Ringerfundin, the level of fluid in the body and the level of sodium in the blood may increase, leading to swelling and an increase in blood pressure.
  • Drugs that affect the potassium content of the blood, such as
    • suxameton
    • certain diuretics ( diuretics ), which reduce potassium excretion, e.g. amiloride, spironolactone , triamterene
    • tacrolimus, ciclosporin (medicine used to prevent organ rejection in organ transplantation)
If these medicines are used at the same time as Ringerfundin, the potassium level in the blood may increase, which can cause side effects in the function of the heart. This is more likely if you have impaired kidney function.
  • Digitalis drugs (eg digoxin ) used in heart disease
Their effect can increase when the calcium content in the blood increases, which can lead to side effects , such as irregular heartbeat. Therefore, your doctor may need to change the dosage one of digoxin .
  • Vitamin D which can increase the calcium level in the blood.

The doctor is aware of these side effects that may occur if Ringerfundin and the above mentioned medicines are combined. Your doctor will make sure you get the right dose .

Some medicines must not be mixed with Ringerfundin. The doctor knows who they are and uses only those medicines that can be safely mixed.
