What Fenuril Hydrocortisone is and what it is used for

Fenuril- Hydrocortisone is a mild-acting hydrocortisone preparation (mild steroid ) with anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effect for topical use. Cream one also contains equal parts urea and sodium chloride (salt), which gives the cream a water-binding ability that increases the moisture in the skin.

Fenuril- Hydrocortisone is used to treat different types of eczema .

Hydrocortisone , urea and sodium chloride contained in Fenuril- Hydrocortisone may also be approved for the treatment of other conditions not mentioned in this product information. Ask your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional if you have any further questions and always follow their instructions.

What you need to know before you use Fenuril Hydrocortisone

Do not use Fenuril Hydrocortisone

  • if you are allergic to hydrocortisone , urea , sodium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • in skin infections without concomitant treatment of infection one. In this case, consult a doctor who decides on appropriate treatment.

Warnings and cautions

Things to consider before and when using this medicine:

Do not use for wound treatment.

Avoid getting the preparation in your eyes.

Consult a physician before using Fenuril- Hydrocortisone for long-term treatment of large body areas in young children.

Contact a doctor if you experience blurred vision or other visual disturbances

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy:

No adverse effects on the fetus have been demonstrated during use during pregnancy.

Breast-feeding:

Hydrocortisone passes into breast milk but is unlikely to affect breast-fed infants . However, consult a physician if you use Fenuril- Hydrocortisone cream more than temporarily during breast-feeding.

Fenuril-Hydrocortisone contains cetostearyl alcohol, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate

Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).

Methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate may cause an allergic reaction (possibly delayed).

3. How to use Fenuril-Hydrocortisone

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Cream a thin coat after cleansing the skin twice daily, e.g. morning and evening. When improvement occurs, the number of coats can be reduced. The effect of the treatment is better if you keep the skin soft at the same time with an emollient creamwithout hydrocortisone .

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very common side effects (affects more than 1 user in 10): transient local irritation due to burning or heat sensation may occur.

Has been reported (occurs in unknown number of users): blurred vision

Contact allergy to the preparation ( hydrocortisone ) in the form of increasing itching, redness and irritation may occur but is less common.

5. How to store Fenuril-Hydrocortisone

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. Expiration date is the last day of the specified month.

Unopened packaging: Do not store above 15 ° C.

Opened packaging: Do not store above 25 ° C for up to 3 months.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

The active substances are hydrocortisone , urea ( urea ), sodium chloride. 1 g creamcontains hydrocortisone 5 mg, urea ( urea ) 40 mg, sodium chloride 40 mg.

Other ingredients: Liquid paraffin, macrogol-5-glycerol monostearate, cetostearyl alcohol, stearic acid, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), trometamol and purified water.
