1. What Echinacea Friggs is and what it is used for

Echinacea Friggs is an herbal medicine used to prevent and relieve colds.

For short-term treatment only. Used for a maximum of 10 days per treatment session.

2. What you need to know before using Echinacea Friggs

Do not use Echinacea Friggs

– if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Echinacea purpurea (red sun hat) or any of the other ingredients of Echinacea Friggs (listed in section 6).

– if you are allergic to other basket-flowered plants (eg grasshopper, chamomile, daisy, wormwood, or dandelion).

– if you have an ongoing systemic disease (eg, tuberculosis, leukemia, connective tissue disease, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, HIV – infection, or other autoimmune diseases) or immunocompromised.

– for the treatment of children under 1 year.

Warnings and cautions

Take special care with Echinacea Friggs

– if the symptoms get worse or if you get a high fever. Consult a doctor or healthcare professional.

– if you are atopic. There is a possible risk of severe hypersensitivity reactions(anaphylactic reactions) in atopic patients. Stop taking Echinacea Friggs and contact a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, and/or pharynx, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, or skin rash.

Children and young people

Echinacea Friggs is not recommended for children under 12 years of age as experience is limited.

Other medicines and Echinacea Friggs

The effect of concomitant use of other drugs has not been studied.

In case of contact with a doctor or other healthcare professional, remember to tell them that you are taking or have recently taken Echinacea Friggs.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

As experience is limited, the use of Echinacea Friggs may not be recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

The potential effect of the drug on fertility has not been studied.

Driving and using machines

Echinacea Friggs has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines.

You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and/or side effects.

Echinacea Friggs contains sodium and sucrose

This medicine contains approximately 17 mmol (or 392 mg) sodium per dose. This should be considered by patients on a low-salt diet.

Echinacea Friggs contains sucrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking Echinacea Friggs.

3. How to use Echinacea Friggs

Always use Echinacea Friggs exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or other healthcare professional. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults, the elderly, and adolescents over 12 years of age:

First day: 1 effervescent tablet every two hours (maximum 5 effervescent tablets during the day)

Then: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily during the cold period.

1 effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water. In case of cold symptoms, treatment should start as soon as possible.

Echinacea Friggs should not be used for more than 10 days per treatment session. Contact a doctor or healthcare professional if symptoms persist after 10 days.

Use for children and adolescents

Not recommended for children under 12 years and should not be given to children under 1 year.

If you use more Echinacea Friggs then you should 

If you have ingested too much medicine or if, for example, a child has accidentally ingested the medicine, contact a doctor, hospital, or the Poison Information Center for risk assessment and advice.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Echinacea Friggs can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

For products containing Echinacea, hypersensitivity reactions in the form of skin rash with hives and itching may occur. In rare cases, severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur with swelling of the face, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, and a drop in blood pressure. The risk of allergic reactions is higher in atopic. It is unclear how common the above-mentioned side effects are.

5. How to store Echinacea Friggs

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Close the tube tightly.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and tube after “EXP.”. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

– The active substance is dried pressed juice from fresh herb of red sun hat (Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench). 1 effervescent tablet contains 176 mg of dried pressed juice from fresh herb of red sun hat (Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench), corresponding to about 4.3 g of fresh herb of red sun hat.

– other ingredients are citric acid, sodium hydrogen carbonate, maltodextrin, saccharin sodium (sweetener), ascorbic acid ( vitamin C ), lemon aroma ( ascorbic acid , citral, lemon oil, maltodextrin, sucrose, modified starch ), colloidal hydrated silica, citric acid monohydrate.

What the medicine looks like and the contents of the pack

Effervescent tablet one is round, flat, ivory white with brown spots, 25 mm in diameter.

Polypropylene tube containing 20 effervescent tablets. Warranty closure of polyethylene. The closure contains desiccant of silica gel.
