1. What Alcosanal Is And What It Is Used For

Alcosanal has an astringent and decongestant effect on the anal tissue in the rectal opening, in addition, itching is relieved.

In case of temporary treatment of hemorrhoids, cracks, and eczema at the rectal opening (anal eczema). Can also be prescribed by a doctor for other indications. Relieves symptoms such as

3. How To Use Alcosanal

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The ointment is applied morning and evening.

Instructions for use

Before using Alcosanal rectal ointment, the rectal opening should be well-cleaned and dry.

The package comes with an applicator, which can be screwed onto the tube and facilitate the insertion of the ointment. Before starting treatment, warm the tube in your hand. The ointment thus becomes easier to push out of the tube and with the help of the rectal tip it can be spread directly over the irritating parts.

You need to talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.

4. Possible Alcosanal Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):

  • Burning
  • Itching

5. How To Store Alcosanal

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after EXP. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month.
  • Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
