medicines called&nbsp;ACE inhibitors.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This medicine is used to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>treat high&nbsp;blood pressure<\/li><li>treat&nbsp;heart failure&nbsp;(impaired heart function).&nbsp;It can reduce the need for hospital care and can for some lead to prolonged survival.<\/li><li>reduce the symptoms of&nbsp;heart failure.&nbsp;Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue after light physical activity such as walking or swelling of the ankles and feet.<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The drug works by dilating your blood vessels and this causes the&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;to&nbsp;drop.&nbsp;The effect usually starts within an hour and the effect lasts for at least 24 hours.&nbsp;Some individuals may need several weeks of treatment
