Zoviduo contains two active substances: aciclovir and\u00a0hydrocortisone.\u00a0Aciclovir is an antiviral drug that helps fight the\u00a0virus\u00a0that causes cold sores.\u00a0Hydrocortisone\u00a0is a mild\u00a0steroid\u00a0that reduces\u00a0inflammation\u00a0that occurs when you have mouth ulcers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoviduo\u00a0cream\u00a0is used to treat the early signs and symptoms (eg stinging,\u00a0itching\u00a0or\u00a0redness\u00a0) of cold sores on the lips and the skin near the lips to reduce the risk of a cold sore developing into blisters in adults and adolescents (12 years and older).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if your mouth ulcer has developed into blisters, treatment with Zoviduo will shorten the healing process by about half to a day compared to treatment with cream without the active ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
