Ventoline Diskus should be used to relieve acute complaints. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Ventoline\u00a0Diskus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before starting treatment with Ventoline\u00a0Diskus, consult a doctor if you have any of the following diseases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If the asthma symptoms increase or if the effect of Ventoline\u00a0Diskus\u00a0deteriorates, e.g.\u00a0if a previously effective\u00a0dose\u00a0does not provide symptom relief for at least 3 hours, a doctor should be contacted immediately.\u00a0Repeated\u00a0inhalations\u00a0that do not produce an effect in severe asthma attacks may mean that another treatment is needed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Stop taking Ventoline and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms ( angioedema ):<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The effect of treatment can be affected if Ventoline\u00a0Diskus\u00a0and certain other medicines are taken at the same time.\u00a0Therefore, consult a doctor before taking other concomitant medication.\u00a0Some antihypertensive drugs (\u00a0beta-blockers\u00a0) can cancel out the effect of Ventoline\u00a0Diskus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No adverse effects on the fetus have been demonstrated when using Ventoline Diskus during pregnancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is unknown whether salbutamol passes into breast milk. Therefore, consult a doctor before<\/em> use during breastfeeding.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires increased attention.\u00a0One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and\/or\u00a0side effects.\u00a0A description of these effects and\u00a0side effects\u00a0can be found in other sections.\u00a0Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance.\u00a0Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ventoline\u00a0Diskus\u00a0contains\u00a0lactose\u00a0up to 12.5 mg\/dose.\u00a0This amount normally does not cause problems for lactose-intolerant people.\u00a0The excipient\u00a0lactose\u00a0contains small amounts of milk protein that can cause allergic reactions. Always use this medicine as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The dose is determined by the doctor, who adjusts it individually for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adults and children aged 12 and over<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The usual\u00a0dose\u00a0is 1\u00a0inhalation\u00a0as needed.\u00a0See the User Manual for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Children (4-11 years)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The usual\u00a0dose\u00a0for relief of\u00a0acute\u00a0spasms in the trachea is 1\u00a0inhalation\u00a0as needed.\u00a0The total<\/p>\n\n\n\n the use must not exceed 4 inhalations daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The usual dose for chronic treatment of asthma is 1 inhalation four times daily.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have ingested too much medicine or if, for example,\u00a0a child has accidentally ingested the medicine, contact a doctor or hospital for an assessment of the risk and advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In case of overdose, you may experience palpitations, tremors, and headaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have further questions about this medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Like all medicines, this medicine can cause\u00a0side effects, although not everybody gets them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Side effects are divided into the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n very common<\/em> (affects more than 1 person in 10)<\/p>\n\n\n\n common<\/em> (affects more than 1 person in 100)<\/p>\n\n\n\n uncommon<\/em> (affects less than 1 person in 100)<\/p>\n\n\n\n rare<\/em> (affects less than 1 person in 1,000)<\/p>\n\n\n\n very rare<\/em> (affects less than 1 person in 10,000)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Common:<\/em> Tremors. Increased heart rate. Headache. Muscle cramps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Uncommon:<\/em> Palpitations. Irritation in the oral cavity and throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rare:<\/em> Decreased potassium content in the blood. Expansion of superficial blood vessels that can cause redness and a feeling of heat in the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Very rare:\u00a0<\/em>Hypersensitivity reaction, e.g.\u00a0itching\u00a0and skin rash (hives), swelling of the face, tongue, and\/or throat (so-called\u00a0angioedema\u00a0), spasm in the trachea, drop in blood pressure.\u00a0Overactivity and sleep disorders.\u00a0Irregular heartbeat.\u00a0Chest pain (a sign of angina).*<\/p>\n\n\n\n * If chest pain (a sign of angina) should occur, you should talk to your doctor as soon as possible.\u00a0However, do not stop treatment on your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Inhalation treatment can cause spasms in the trachea through unclear mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tremors and palpitations may occur, especially at the beginning of treatment. These usually disappear after a certain period of use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Medicines must not be thrown into the drain or among the household waste.\u00a0Ask the pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that are no longer used.\u00a0These measures will help to protect the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As drug residues may remain in the empty packaging, these should not be thrown in the rubbish, but the empty packaging should also be returned to the pharmacy.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The active substance in Ventoline Diskus is salbutamol .
