for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm film-coated tablets contain two active substances, valsartan and&nbsp;hydrochlorothiazide&nbsp;.&nbsp;Both substances help to control high&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;(&nbsp;hypertension&nbsp;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Valsartan<\/strong>\u00a0belongs to a group of drugs called &#8220;angiotensin II receptor blockers&#8221; and is used to lower high\u00a0blood pressure.\u00a0Angiotensin\u00a0II is a substance found in the body that constricts the blood vessels, which increases\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0et.\u00a0Valsartan works by\u00a0inhibiting\u00a0the effect of\u00a0angiotensin\u00a0II.\u00a0This leads to\u00a0vessels\u00a0dilating and\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0falling.<\/li><li><strong>Hydrochlorothiazide<\/strong>\u00a0belongs to a group of drugs called thiazide diuretics (also called diuretics).\u00a0Hydrochlorothiazide\u00a0increases urine production, which also lowers\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0et.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm is used to treat high&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;that cannot be lowered sufficiently with just one of the substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0increases the load on the heart and blood\u00a0vessels.\u00a0If left untreated, it can damage the blood Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do not take Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>if you are allergic to valsartan,\u00a0hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide derivatives (substances chemically related to\u00a0hydrochlorothiazide\u00a0), soya oil, peanut oil, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).<\/li><li>if you have been\u00a0pregnant for more than three months: Pregnant women should not use Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm during the last 6 months of pregnancy (even earlier in pregnancy it is better to avoid Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm &#8211; see Pregnancy and breast-feeding).<\/li><li>if you have\u00a0severe\u00a0liver disease, the destruction of the small bile ducts in the liver (\u00a0biliary cirrhosis\u00a0) leads to a build-up of bile in the liver (cholestasis).<\/li><li>if you have\u00a0severe\u00a0kidney doctor.<\/strong><a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warnings and precautions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse before taking Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm, especially:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>if you are taking potassium-sparing medicines, potassium supplements, salt substitutes containing\u00a0potassium,\u00a0or other medicines that increase the amount of\u00a0potassium\u00a0in the blood, for example,\u00a0heparin.\u00a0Your doctor may need to check the amount of\u00a0potassium\u00a0in your blood regularly.<\/li><li>if you have low levels of potassium in your blood.<\/li><li>if you have diarrhea or severe vomiting.<\/li><li>if you take lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated.\u00a0If you have previously had a\u00a0penicillin\u00a0or sulfonamide allergy, you may be at greater risk of developing this.<\/li><li>it can increase children and adolescents (younger than 18 years) is not recommended.<a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other medicines and Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The treatment effect can be affected if Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm is taken together with certain other medicines.\u00a0It may be necessary to change the\u00a0dose, take other precautions or, in some cases, stop treatment with one of the drugs.\u00a0This applies in particular to the following medicines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>lithium, a drug used to treat certain types of mental illness<\/li><li>medicines or substances that can increase the amount of\u00a0potassium\u00a0in the blood.\u00a0These include potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing\u00a0potassium, tablets),\u00a0corticosteroids\u00a0(eg prednisone), some\u00a0laxatives\u00a0(eg castor oil), ACTH (a\u00a0hormone\u00a0), carbenoxolone (used to treat mouth ulcers), amphotericin (an antifungal medicine),\u00a0penicillin\u00a0G (an\u00a0antibiotic\u00a0), salicylic acid and closely related substances.<\/li><li>certain\u00a0antibiotics\u00a0(rifamycin group), a medicine used to protect for\u00a0gout, e.g.\u00a0allopurinol, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone<\/li><li>therapeutic\u00a0vitamin D\u00a0and calcium supplements<\/li><li>diabetes medications (oral agents, eg\u00a0metformin\u00a0or\u00a0insulin\u00a0er)<\/li><li>other antihypertensive medicines including methyldopa,\u00a0ACE inhibitors\u00a0(such as\u00a0enalapril, lisinopril, etc.), or aliskiren (see also information under the headings &#8220;Do not take Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm&#8221; and &#8220;Warnings and precautions&#8221;<\/li><li>medicines to increase\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0et, e.g.\u00a0norepinephrine\u00a0or\u00a0adrenaline<\/li><li>digoxin\u00a0or other\u00a0digitalis glycosides\u00a0(medicines used to treat heart problems)<\/li><li>medicines that can increase blood sugar, e.g.\u00a0diazoxide or\u00a0beta-blockers<\/li><li>cytotoxic drugs (used to treat cancer), e.g.\u00a0methotrexate or cyclophosphamide<\/li><li>pain relievers such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (\u00a0NSAIDs\u00a0), including selective\u00a0cyclooxygenase\u00a02 inhibitors (COX 2 inhibitors) and\u00a0aspirin\u00a0more than 3 grams<\/li><li>muscle relaxants, e.g.\u00a0tubocurarine<\/li><li>anticholinergic drugs (agents for the treatment of a variety of disorders, such as gastrointestinal spasms, bladder spasms,\u00a0asthma, motion sickness, examinations).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm with food and alcohol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can take Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm regardless of meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avoid drinking alcohol until you have spoken to your doctor.&nbsp;Alcohol can lower&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;further and\/or increase the risk of you becoming dizzy or fainting.<a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pregnancy and breastfeeding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Tell your doctor if you think you are pregnant or become pregnant during treatment. <\/strong>Your doctor will usually suggest that you stop taking Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm before pregnancy or as soon as you know you are pregnant and will recommend another medicine for you instead.\u00a0Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm is not recommended in early pregnancy and should not be used during the last 6 months of pregnancy as it can then cause birth defects.<\/li><li>Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or intend to start breastfeeding.Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm is not recommended for mothers who are breastfeeding and your doctor may choose another treatment for you if you wish to breastfeed your baby, especially if your baby is a newborn or was born prematurely.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Driving ability and use of machinery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you drive, use tools or machines, or perform activities that require concentration, make sure you know how Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm affects you.\u00a0Like many other medicines for the treatment of high\u00a0blood pressure, Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm can rarely cause dizziness and affect the ability to concentrate.\u00a0You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires increased vigilance.\u00a0One of the factors that can affect your ability lactose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, you should consult your doctor before taking this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm contains soybean oil<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm contains soybean oil.&nbsp;If you are allergic to peanuts or soya, you should not take this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm contains&nbsp;sodium<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valsartan\/Hydrochlorothiazide Rivopharm contains less than 1
