WHAT SUMATRIPTAN AUROBINDO IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The drug group triptans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sumatriptan Aurobindo belongs to the drug group triptans ( also known as 5-HT 1<\/sub> – receptor agonists )<\/em> which are used to treat migraine headaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Migraine symptoms are probably caused by a temporary dilation of the blood vessels in the head.\u00a0Sumatriptan Aurobindo is thought to reduce the dilation of these blood vessels.\u00a0This contributes to the disappearance or relief of headaches and other migraine symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and light and sound sensitivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sumatriptan Aurobindo only works when a migraine attack has started. It does not stop an attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must not use sumatriptan to prevent a migraine attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BEFORE YOU TAKE SUMATRIPTAN AUROBINDO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Do not use Sumatriptan Aurobindo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you are allergic<\/strong> to sumatriptan or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you have heart problems,<\/strong> eg narrowed blood vessels ( ischemic heart disease<\/em> ), chest pain (angina), or have previously had a heart attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you have problems with blood circulation in your legs<\/strong> that cause cramp-like pain when you walk ( so-called peripheral vascular disease<\/em> ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you have had a stroke <\/strong>or TIA ( transient circulatory disorder in the brain<\/em> ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0If you have high\u00a0blood pressure<\/strong>.\u00a0You can use Sumatriptan Aurobindo if you have been treated for mild high blood pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you have any serious liver disease.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you are being treated with other migraine medicines<\/strong> containing ergotamine or substances similar to ergotamine such as methysergide or any other triptan\/5-HT1 receptor agonist (medicines also used to treat migraines ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you are being treated with antidepressants of the monoamine oxidase inhibitor<\/strong> type ( MAO inhibitor ) or if you have been treated with any such medication within the last two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If any of the above applies to you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ad \u2192 Contact your doctor and do not use Sumatriptan Aurobindo.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warnings and precautions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Sumatriptan Aurobindo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have any additional risk factors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 If you are a heavy smoker<\/strong> or use nicotine substitutes<\/strong> and especially<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0if you are a man over 40<\/strong>, or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 if you are a woman and have passed the age of menstruation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In very rare cases, serious heart conditions have occurred after taking Sumatriptan Aurobindo even though no signs of heart disease have been demonstrated. If any of the above risk factors apply to you, it may mean that you have a greater risk of developing heart disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Tell your doctor so that your heart function can be checked<\/strong> before treatment with Sumatriptan Aurobindo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have previously had seizures<\/strong>\u00a0or if other factors may increase the risk of seizures, such as brain damage or alcoholism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have any liver or kidney disease.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are allergic to\u00a0antibiotics of the\u00a0sulfonamide\u00a0type.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
