What Striverdi Respimat is and what it is used for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Striverdi Respimat helps people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) breathe easier. COPD is a long-term lung disease that causes shortness of breath and coughing. The diagnosis of COPD is also associated with long-term bronchial catarrh ( chronic bronchitis ) and enlarged lung sacs ( emphysema ). Because COPD is a long-term disease, you should use Striverdi Respimat every day, not just when you have breathing problems or other symptoms of COPD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Striverdi Respimat contains the active substance olodaterol which is a long-acting bronchodilator (long-acting beta 2\u00a0agonists) that helps open your airways and makes it easier to get air in and out of the lungs.\u00a0Regular use of Striverdi Respimat can also help when you experience a period of shortness of breath due to your illness, and help you reduce the impact of the illness on your daily life.

What you need to know before you use Striverdi Respimat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Do not use Striverdi Respimat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

– if you are allergic to olodaterol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warnings and precautions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Striverdi Respimat if:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have asthma (you should not use Striverdi Respimat for the treatment of asthma ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have heart problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have high\u00a0blood pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have\u00a0epilepsy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have a specific problem with the thyroid gland called\u00a0thyrotoxicosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have abnormal enlargement of an\u00a0artery\u00a0called an\u00a0aneurysm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have\u00a0diabetes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– you have severely impaired liver function as Striverdi Respimat has not been studied in this patient group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During treatment with Striverdi Respimat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–\u00a0Stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately<\/strong>\u00a0if you feel chest pressure, cough, wheezing, or shortness of breath immediately after using the medicine.\u00a0This may be a sign of a condition called\u00a0bronchospasm\u00a0(see section 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– If breathing worsens or you experience a skin rash, swelling, or\u00a0itching\u00a0immediately after\u00a0inhalation, stop using Striverdi Respimat and contact a doctor immediately (see section 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Certain medicines for breathing problems are similar to Striverdi Respimat (long-acting beta-agonists\u00a0).\u00a0It may increase your risk of\u00a0side effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Medicines called beta-blockers are used for high\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0or heart problems (such as propranolol), or the eye disease\u00a0glaucoma\u00a0(such as\u00a0timolol<\/a>\u00a0).\u00a0This may result in a reduced effect of Striverdi Respimat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
