Naproxen\u00a0Mylan is a painkiller, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory\u00a0drug.\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan belongs to a group of medicines called\u00a0NSAIDs\u00a0(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adults and adolescents from 12 years (over 50 kg):<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen Mylan is used for temporary, mild to moderate pain conditions, e.g. headache, toothache, muscle and joint pain, back pain. Period pain. Fever with a cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adults from 18 years:<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen Mylan can also be used in acute migraine attacks in adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen contained\u00a0in\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan may also be approved for the treatment of other diseases not mentioned in this product information.\u00a0Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional if you have any further questions, and always follow their instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lowest possible\u00a0dose\u00a0and the shortest possible treatment time should always be sought to reduce the risk of\u00a0side effects.\u00a0Higher\u00a0doses\u00a0than those recommended can lead to serious risks.\u00a0This also means that the combination of several\u00a0NSAIDs\u00a0at the same dose should be avoided.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have or have had the following diseases, you should consult a doctor before starting treatment with Naproxen Mylan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n For chickenpox, this medicine should not be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elderly people should be aware of the increased risk of side effects that exist in old age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Especially at the beginning of treatment, patients who have previously had gastrointestinal problems, especially elderly patients, should consult a doctor in case of abdominal symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen\u00a0Mylan can in rare cases affect the white\u00a0blood cells\u00a0so that the defense of infection deteriorates.\u00a0If you get an\u00a0infection\u00a0with symptoms such as fever with severe general condition or fever with local infection symptoms such as sore throat\/pharynx \/ mouth or urination problems, you should see a doctor as soon as possible so that a blood test can rule out a lack of\u00a0white blood cells\u00a0(\u00a0agranulocytosis\u00a0).\u00a0It is important that you then information about your medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stop taking\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan and contact a doctor immediately if swelling of e.g.\u00a0a. face, tongue, and \/ or throat and\/or difficulty swallowing or\u00a0hives\u00a0that occur together with difficulty breathing (\u00a0angioedema\u00a0).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Severe skin reactions when using NSAIDs have been reported in very rare cases. Stop taking Naproxen Mylan and consult a doctor if you get a rash or damage to the mucous membranes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Using naproxen may make it difficult for you to get pregnant. Talk to your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy or if you have problems getting pregnant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Medicines such as\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan may have a small increased risk of heart attack or\u00a0stroke.\u00a0Such an increase in risk is more likely with the use of high\u00a0doses\u00a0and with long-term treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment time (see section 3 How to take Naproxen Mylan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your treatment if you have heart problems, if you have had a\u00a0stroke\u00a0before, or if you think you have an increased risk of these conditions (for example, if you have high\u00a0blood pressure,\u00a0diabetes\u00a0, high cholesterol or if you smoke).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen\u00a0Mylan should not be used by children under 12 years of age without a doctor’s\u00a0prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen\u00a0Mylan should not be used in adolescents over 12 years of age who weigh less than 50 kg without a doctor’s\u00a0prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.\u00a0Do not use several different painkillers at the same time without a doctor’s prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen Mylan may affect or be affected by certain medicines (containing the following substances):<\/p>\n\n\n\n The effect is not reduced but can be delayed slightly if Naproxen Mylan is taken with food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pregnant women should not use\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan during the last three months of pregnancy.\u00a0Taking\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan should be avoided by women who are planning to become pregnant or are pregnant.\u00a0Treatment during any part of the pregnancy should only be done after a doctor’s\u00a0prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen\u00a0Mylan passes into breast milk but is unlikely to affect the breast-feeding baby.\u00a0Talk to your doctor if you need more than temporary use of\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan while breastfeeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During treatment with Naproxen Mylan, some people may be less able to react. This should be taken into account when sharper attention is required, eg when driving a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened vigilance.\u00a0One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and\/or\u00a0side effects.\u00a0Descriptions of these effects and\u00a0side effects\u00a0can be found in other sections.\u00a0Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance.\u00a0If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The drug contains\u00a0lactose.\u00a0If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, ie essentially ‘sodium-free’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The recommended dose is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Occasional mild to moderate pain and fever in case of cold<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Adults and adolescents from 12 years (over 50 kg): <\/em> 1 tablet if needed, but not more than 2 tablets (500 mg) per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Contact a doctor if the symptoms worsen or do not improve within 3 days in case of fever and 5 days in case of pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In case of acute migraine attacks<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Adults from 18 years of age:<\/em> 3 tablets at the onset of seizures, then 1 tablet if necessary, but not more than 5 tablets per day. Contact a doctor if Naproxen Mylan has not helped with your migraine within 3 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Adolescents from 12 years (over 50 kg):<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you think you have a migraine headache, consult a doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have ingested too much medicine or if e.g.\u00a0If a child has ingested the medicine, contact a doctor or hospital by mistake for assessment of the risk and advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Like all medicines, this medicine can cause\u00a0side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u00a0Side effects\u00a0from the gastrointestinal tract such as\u00a0dyspepsia, abdominal pain, and nausea are the most common\u00a0side effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Common (more than 1 in 100 patients):<\/em> Drowsiness, thirst, dizziness, sweating, palpitations, headache, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, heartburn, inflammation of the mouth, diarrhea, fluid retention, rash or superficial skin ulcers, tinnitus, visual disturbances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Uncommon (less than 1 in 100 patients):<\/em>\u00a0Fever,\u00a0gastric ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding,\u00a0inflammation of the\u00a0lining\u00a0of the stomach,\u00a0hives\u00a0, photosensitivity that causes\u00a0inflammation\u00a0of the skin, liver effects,\u00a0asthma, shortness of breath, difficulty falling asleep, difficulty concentrating, kidney effects, hair loss, hearing loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rare (less than 1 in 1000 patients):<\/em>\u00a0Flatulence, hepatitis,\u00a0inflammation\u00a0of the esophagus,\u00a0inflammation\u00a0of the colon, vomiting, vomiting, flatulence, worsening of certain inflammatory bowel diseases (\u00a0colitis\u00a0and\u00a0Crohn’s disease\u00a0), fluid accumulation in the lungs,\u00a0pneumonia,\u00a0meningitis\u00a0, pancreatitis, severe skin reaction with\u00a0inflammation\u00a0and high fever,\u00a0hypersensitivity reaction\u00a0with symptoms such as facial swelling due to fluid retention (\u00a0angioedema\u00a0see Take special care with\u00a0NaproxenMylan), seizures, muscle weakness, muscle aches, blood clots (eg\u00a0agranulocytosis\u00a0see Take special care with\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan), increased\u00a0potassium\u00a0in the blood,\u00a0inflammation\u00a0of the blood vessels,\u00a0heart failure, high\u00a0blood pressure, bloody stools, blood in the urine, depression, mild anxiety, nightmares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naproxen Mylan prolongs bleeding time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Medicines such as\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan may have a small increased risk of heart attack or\u00a0stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In rare cases, severe skin infections are associated with chickenpox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Inflammation, bleeding (sometimes fatal, especially in the elderly),\u00a0stomach ulcers, rupture, and obstruction of the upper or lower gastrointestinal tract may occur during treatment with\u00a0Naproxen\u00a0Mylan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reporting of side effects<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nWhat you need to know before you take Naproxen Mylan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
