Disorders)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>in children and adolescents between 6 years and older and in adults.<\/li><li>after other treatments that do not involve drugs have been tried, age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How it works<\/strong><br>Medikinet improves the activity in certain parts of the brain that are underactive.\u00a0The drug can improve attention, concentration and reduce impulsivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drug is used as part of a treatment program.\u00a0which usually consists of psychological, educational, and social measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The treatment with Medikinet may only be initiated by and used under the supervision of a doctor who specializes in the treatment of\u00a0ADHD, such as a pediatrician, a child, an adolescent psychiatrist, or a Medikinet if you or your child:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>is allergic to methylphenidate hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section cause pain in the arms and legs<\/li><li>have or have had heart problems e.g.&nbsp;heart attack, irregular heartbeat, chest pain and discomfort,&nbsp;heart failure&nbsp;, heart disease or congenital heart problems<\/li><li>have had diseases of the blood vessels of the brain such as&nbsp;stroke&nbsp;, swelling and weakened part of blood vessels (&nbsp;aneurysm&nbsp;), narrowing or blocked blood vessels or&nbsp;inflammation&nbsp;of blood vessels (&nbsp;vasculitis&nbsp;)<\/li><li>takes or has during the last 14 days taken antidepressants, so-called&nbsp;monoamine oxidase inhibitors&nbsp;(&nbsp;MAOIs&nbsp;) (see Other medicines and Medikinet).<\/li><li>have psychiatric problems such as:<ul><li>psychopathic or&nbsp;borderline&nbsp;personality changes<\/li><li>abnormal thoughts or visions or a disease called schizophrenia<\/li><li>signs of severe mood disorders such as:<ul><li>suicidal thoughts,<\/li><li>severe depression, feeling great sadness, feeling of worthlessness and hopelessness<\/li><li>manic, is unusually elated, overactive or uninhibited.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>has a history of disease with a pronounced lack of stomach acid (gastric juice in the stomach is not acidic) with a&nbsp;pH&nbsp;value above 5.5<\/li><li>take medicines to reduce gastric acid secretion or to treat excess stomach acid in the stomach (H2 receptor blockers, use Medikinet if you or your child:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>have liver or kidney problems<\/li><li>have difficulty swallowing or can not swallow whole tablets<\/li><li>have a narrowing or obstruction in the gastrointestinal tract<\/li><li>have had seizures (seizures,&nbsp;epilepsy&nbsp;) or abnormal&nbsp;EEG&nbsp;(electroencephalogram)<\/li><li>has for some period abused be:<ul><li>mood swings (from manic to depressed, called&nbsp;bipolar disorder&nbsp;)<\/li><li>exhibits aggressive or hostile behavior, or aggravated aggression<\/li><li>see, hear or feel things that do not exist (hallucinations)<\/li><li>believe in things that are not true (delusions)<\/li><li>feels unusually suspicious (&nbsp;paranoia&nbsp;)<\/li><li>feeling upset, anxious or tense<\/li><li>feeling depressed or guilty<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tell your doctor before starting treatment if any of the above conditions or symptoms apply to you or your child as these conditions may be aggravated by methylphenidate.&nbsp;Your doctor will check how the medicine is affecting you or your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Checks that the doctor will make before treatment with Medikinet:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine if Medikinet is the right medicine for you or your child, your doctor will discuss the following with you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>any medication that you or your child is taking.<\/li><li>if there is a history of sudden unresolved deaths in the family.<\/li><li>if there is any other medical condition (eg heart problem) that you, your child or your family may have.<\/li><li>how you or your child feel, e.g.&nbsp;is overly emotional, has strange thoughts and has had some such feelings in the past.<\/li><li>if&nbsp;tics&nbsp;occur within the family (difficult to control, repeated twitching in any part of the body or repeated sounds and words).<\/li><li>if you or your child or other family member has or has had a problem related to mental health or behavioral disorders.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The doctor will especially discuss whether you or your child is at risk of mood swings (from being manic to becoming depressed &#8211; called bipolar disorder).\u00a0This includes a review of mental health, including the incidence of suicide, bipolar disorder, and depression in the family.<br>You must provide as much information as you can.\u00a0It makes it easier for the doctor to decide if Medikinet is the right medicine for you or your child.\u00a0Your doctor may decide that more medical examinations are needed before you or your child are treated with this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During treatment, boys and adolescents may unexpectedly experience prolonged\u00a0erections.\u00a0It can be a painful condition that can occur at any time.\u00a0You must contact your doctor immediately if an\u00a0erection\u00a0lasts for more than 2 hours, especially your child:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>take so-called&nbsp;monoamine oxidase inhibitors&nbsp;(&nbsp;MAOIs&nbsp;) for depression, or have taken&nbsp;MAOIs&nbsp;for the past 14 days.&nbsp;Concomitant intake of&nbsp;MAO inhibitors&nbsp;and Medikinet modified-&nbsp;release&nbsp;capsules&nbsp;may cause a sudden increase in blood pressure.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you or your child are taking other medicines at the same time, Medikinet may affect the effectiveness of these or cause\u00a0side effects.\u00a0Tell your doctor if you or your child are taking medicines to treat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Depression<\/li><li>psychiatric illnesses<\/li><li>epilepsy<\/li><li>problems with&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;et<\/li><li>cough and colds.&nbsp;Some medicines and colds can affect&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;.&nbsp;It is important to consult your pharmacist when purchasing such a product<\/li><li>blood-thinning drugs that prevent blood clots.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Medikinet capsules, modified-\u00a0release\u00a0should not be taken with H\u00a0<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0receptor blocking agents, proton pump inhibitors, or antacids used to reduce the hydrochloric acid production or counteract an excess of acid in the stomach, as it can lead to faster\u00a0release\u00a0of the total amount of active substance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are your doctor if you or your child are having surgery.\u00a0The medicine should not be taken on the day of surgery if a certain anesthetic is used.\u00a0Otherwise, there is a risk of a sudden increase in\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0during the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The medicine with alcohol<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not drink alcohol during treatment with this medicine, as alcohol may aggravate the\u00a0side effects of the\u00a0medicine.\u00a0Keep in mind that foods and medicines may contain alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pregnancy and breastfeeding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Available data do not indicate an increased risk of malformations overall.&nbsp;However, it can not be ruled out that there is a small increase in the risk of your child may experience dizziness, difficulty focusing your eyes, or blurred vision during treatment with Medikinet.\u00a0If this happens, it can be dangerous to perform such activities as driving a vehicle, using machines, riding, cycling, or climbing trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened attention.\u00a0One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and\/or\u00a0side effects.\u00a0Descriptions of these effects and\u00a0side modified-release\u00a0medicine capsules\u00a0contain sucrose and\u00a0sodium<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you or your child cannot tolerate certain sugars, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg)\u00a0sodium\u00a0per\u00a0dose, ie\u00a0essentially &#8216;sodium-free&#8217;.\u00a0is next to before<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommended starting dose is 10 mg daily<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>your doctor will increase the&nbsp;dose&nbsp;one by 10 mg daily, depending on how well months, possibly more often.&nbsp;Checks will also be made when changing&nbsp;dose&nbsp;one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 the controls include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>control of appetite<\/li><li>measurement of height and weight in children<\/li><li>measurement of weight in adults<\/li><li>measurement of&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;and&nbsp;heart rate<\/li><li>assessment of mood, thoughts or other unusual emotions.&nbsp;If these have worsened after Medikinet treatment has started.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method of administration The<\/strong><br>drug is intended to be taken orally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children take Medikinet modified-release\u00a0capsules\u00a0in the morning\u00a0<strong>with or after<\/strong>\u00a0breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adults take Medikinet modified-release\u00a0capsules with\u00a0or after breakfast\u00a0<strong>and<\/strong>\u00a0lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drug is a type of methylphenidate with &#8220;controlled release&#8221; which means that the drug is released for a longer time.\u00a0It is very important to take the capsule with or after a meal so that the effect is delayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The capsules can be swallowed whole with a glass of may cause abnormal behavior.\u00a0It can also be a sign of tolerance development for the drug.\u00a0Tell your doctor if you or your child have ever abused or been addicted to alcohol, drugs, or twitching, convulsions (which may be followed by\u00a0coma\u00a0),\u00a0euphoria, confusion, hallucinations (seeing, feeling, or hearing things that do not exist), sweating, reddening of the skin, headache, high fever, changes in\u00a0heart rate\u00a0(slow, fast or irregular), high\u00a0blood pressure, dilated\u00a0pupils\u00a0and dry mucous membranes of the nose and mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you or your child have forgotten to take Medikinet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not take a double\u00a0dose\u00a0to make up for a forgotten\u00a0dose.\u00a0If you or your child has stops taking the medicine,&nbsp;ADHD&nbsp;symptoms&nbsp;may&nbsp;return or&nbsp;side effects&nbsp;such as depression may occur.&nbsp;The doctor gradually reduces the amount of medicine taken each day,
