Itulazax contains allergenic extracts of birch pollen. The drug is in the form of freeze-dried tablets, which are like regular tablets but much softer and are absorbed into the body by placing them under the tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What Itulazax is used for<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Treatment of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n caused by tree pollen from birch, alder, hazel, hornbeam, oak, and beech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax is used in adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax is prescribed by a doctor who has experience in treating allergies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How Itulazax works<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax increases the immune system’s tolerance to (your body’s ability to handle) tree pollen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How does your doctor decide if Itulazax is right for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The doctor will investigate your allergic symptoms and perform a skin prick test and\/or take a blood sample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talk to your doctor before taking Itulazax if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if any of the above apply to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax contains the pollen you are allergic to, so you can expect to get some mild to moderate allergic reactions.\u00a0These reactions can occur in the mouth and throat.\u00a0If it becomes difficult, you can contact your doctor to see if you need any medicine for\u00a0allergies, such as\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the first days when you take the tablets at home, you may experience new allergic reactions that did not occur during the first day of treatment, when you were at the doctors.\u00a0For information on possible\u00a0side effects,\u00a0see section 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax is not intended for use in children and adolescents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. If you are taking other medicines for your allergic symptoms, such as antihistamines or corticosteroids, your doctor should evaluate the use of these medicines. If you stop taking these medicines for your allergic symptoms, you may experience more side effects from Itulazax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not eat or drink for at least 5 minutes after taking the medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is no experience of treatment with Itulazax during pregnancy. Itulazax treatment should not be started during pregnancy. If you become pregnant during treatment, ask your doctor if it is appropriate for you to continue treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is no experience of treatment with Itulazax during breastfeeding. However, no effect is expected on breast-fed infants. Talk to your doctor about continuing treatment with Itulazax while you are breastfeeding your baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is no experience of treatment with Itulazax in people planning pregnancy. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you are planning to become pregnant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Itulazax has no or very little effect on the ability to drive and use machines. You are responsible for assessing whether you are fit to drive a motor vehicle or perform work that requires sharpened attention. One of the factors that can affect your ability in these respects is the use of drugs due to their effects and\/or side effects. Descriptions of these effects and side effects can be found in other sections. Read all the information in this leaflet for guidance. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How much Itulazax to take<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n How to take Itulazax<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Start taking Itulazax at least 4 months before the pollen season is expected to begin. Your doctor will tell you how long to take Itulazax. The recommended treatment time with Itulazax is 3 years to have a long-lasting effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first dose of Itulazax is taken at the doctor’s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Continue to take Itulazax every day even if it takes a while before your allergy improves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Make sure you have completely dry hands before handling the tablets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Take the medicine as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Tear off the tab marked with triangles on top of the blister pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Tear off a box from the blister pack along the perforated lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3.
